Tampons and pads are a thing of the past! Menstrual cups have taken the world by storm. Mpower, a local-based manufacturer of the Mcup, have created a non-absorbent reusable barrier cups made from medically approved, 100% pure silicone menstrual cup as a menstrual management solution for all women. Mcups are:
- Eco-friendly: one Mcup is equivalent to 1200 pads, you are saving the environment by no longer disposing of traditional pads or tampons.
-Cost-effective: buy purchasing an Mcup, you are saving hundreds, if not thousands of rands that you would have spent on traditional tampons or pads.
- Hygienic and reliable : It is easy to clean as the lining is totally smooth and the tab is flat, it is non-porous and non-absorbant. It provides more reliable protection as it opens to form a seal that resists leakage.
- Comfortable and convenient: Due to its soft, silicone rubber, it is incredibly comfortable to wear.
- Effective: Holds up to three times more fluid than the average tampon or pad.
This menstrual cup is available in two sizes - Light and Heav. Depending on your flow, select the size you require, flatten the opening of the cup, fold it again into a 'C' shape design, gently open your labia, and insert the cup so that the 'tail' end faces downwards. Allow the cup's opening to pop open back into it's original shape and gently rotate your cup until you feel a comfortable and secure position. Remember to always sterilise your cup prior to use by keeping it in boiling water for approximately 3 to 5 minutes and wash your hands. To clean, wash and disinfect and store it in it's pouch, ready for your next use.
Like anything new, the MCUp will take some getting used to, but once positioned securely, you will be able to use your MCup anywhere, anytime - stress free.
